History:
Penny Simpson was born on March 23rd, 1980, as well as her twin brother Andrew, to her English mother Margaret Simpson, and her Italian father Giuliano "Julian" Andrea Rossi. With a mixed heritage of a muggle mother and a muggle-born wizard father, Penny grew up with an appreciation for both the magical and non-magical worlds.

In September 1997, when the wizarding world was engulfed in war, Penny's family hid to protect themselves from Death Eaters. Over the next eight months, tension and anxiety took a toll on the family, exacerbated by Julian's constant vigilance. The strain reached a breaking point in April 1998 when an argument led to Penny's twin brother, Andrew, separating from the family and ultimately losing his life to Snatchers. Penny had been hiding nearby when it happened, having been told to stay there no matter what by her brother, and ultimately had been the one to find him there after the Snatchers had left, satisfied with their pound of flesh.

The tragedy shattered Penny's family, and her father's guilt and grief drove him to distance himself from them. Julian became consumed with work, taking extra shifts at the hospital, leaving Penny and her mother feeling abandoned. Eventually, on August 31st, 1999, Julian abruptly left his job, leaving behind a note and disappearing to Hogwarts, where he sought solace and purpose. Seeing how it had affected her father, Penny kept her own grief and nightmares tucked away, not wanting to add to the problems she saw and not sure how to express them anyways.

The aftermath of her father's departure and her parents' subsequent divorce left Penny feeling lost and abandoned. She chose to go with her mother, as her relationship with her father became strained and he couldn't bear to look at her without seeing his lost son. Determined to find her own path, Penny decided not to return to Hogwarts to complete her education. Instead, she embarked on a journey of self-discovery, driven by her love for magical creatures and her passion for justice. She had always been fond of magical things, fascinated by them, and needing a distraction of her own, she felt she had to try and tilt the cosmic scales back in her favor somehow after not having been strong enough to save her brother.

As a young adult, Penny became a vigilante, targeting poachers and those who exploited magical creatures. It was during one of her missions that she stumbled upon a hidden dragon-fighting den. In the midst of the chaos, she discovered an abandoned dragon egg, a symbol of hope in a place filled with cruelty and suffering. A chance to foster life where she had previously been unable to bring her brother back.

Unable to abandon the helpless creature, Penny took the egg under her care, vowing to raise the baby dragon when it hatched. She dedicated herself to learning everything she could about dragon care, seeking out experts, studying ancient texts, and using her instincts to provide a nurturing environment for the dragon. Seeing as it turned out to be a Hungarian Horntail, she had her work cut out for her, but she didn't abandon it to let someone else handle it. Something in her was simply incapable of letting anyone else do it, and she felt fiercely protective of the baby. Drakon, as she'd come to call it, returned the favor. She found herself having to get a home in the countryside far and away from even the wizarding community to give Drakon space to grow and to be safe. He, in turn, would do everything he could to protect her and listens only to her (though, as is his nature, will sometimes try and give her a hard time). It took some adjustment as well to teach him not to eat Cosmo, the retriever she'd brought along with them after her mother decided to move somewhere where she could no longer take the dog with her. Drakon had already been almost a year when Cosmo joined them, so it took some work, but thanks to Penny's studying and training, and the bond she had with Drakon, she was able to get them to coexist.

The experience of raising the baby dragon solidified Penny's determination to become a Dragonologist. She honed her skills, by studying dragon behavior, health, and welfare, and became an advocate for their protection and preservation. Penny fought against poaching, illegal dragon trading, and the mistreatment of dragons, channeling her vigilante spirit into a noble cause.

Personality:
She is a determined, resilient, and compassionate individual. Her experiences growing up in a tumultuous time and facing personal loss have shaped her into a strong and independent woman. She possesses a fierce sense of justice, driven by her desire to protect and care for magical creatures, particularly dragons. Penny's unwavering dedication to their well-being and her passion for advocating against their mistreatment fuels her every action.

Despite the hardships she has faced, Penny remains optimistic and hopeful, always searching for the silver lining in any situation. She possesses a deep empathy for others and a natural ability to connect with both magical and non-magical beings. Her nurturing side shines through in her caretaking of dragons, as she displays patience, tenderness, and a deep understanding of their needs.

Penny is curious by nature, always seeking to expand her knowledge and discover new insights about magical creatures. She is an avid learner, immersing herself in research, studying ancient texts, and seeking out experts to further her understanding. Her dedication to education is not limited to herself; she also enjoys sharing her knowledge with others, mainly through educational programs and workshops that aim to promote understanding and appreciation for magical creatures.

In her interactions with others, Penny is warm, approachable, and empathetic. She values the importance of community and cooperation, and she strives to build connections and foster relationships with like-minded individuals who share her passion for protecting magical creatures. Her determination and resourcefulness make her a reliable and trustworthy ally, always willing to lend a helping hand or stand up for what she believes in.
