Platonic:
Zahir has been employed at the Ministry of Magic since graduating Hogwarts in 1998, following the Battle of Hogwarts. Relaxed and carefree, he is generally easy to get along with and would be friends with just about anyone who isn't trying to cause harm to others. He has studied the Dark Arts, but uses his knowledge to counter them rather than use them. Anyone who considers themselves a Dark Wizard would probably not be friends with him.
I'm open to developing backstories with others!

Romantic:
Zahir has had plenty of boyfriends over the years and was a bit of a heart breaker during his time as a student at Hogwarts. Because he's on rotation at Hogwarts, he has plenty of opportunities for dates with adults not associated with the school.
It would be nice to have an interest, but I'd love to see it grow organically.

Antagonistic:
Dark Wizards/Witches would be the primary adversaries to Zahir. After witnessing the willingness to harm students during the Battle of Hogwarts, there is no love lost with these types of people. He is versed in the Dark Arts, but more to learn counters for spells than actually using them.
While he'll turn a blind eye for those who, like him, understand the Dark Arts, Zahir would not intentionally befriend someone who aligned with Voldemort or similar's ideals.

Education and Employment Timeline:

• Attended Hogwarts (Gryffindor) from 1991-1998
• Fought in the Battle of Hogwarts in his 7th year, 1998
• Trainee Auror, 1998
• Full Auror on rotation at Hogwarts, 2004

Mal and Louis were in their Fourth Year when Zahir started attending Hogwarts. I'm not sure if they would have known each other then, but it could be more likely that they met Zahir after their graduation. Mal might have known Zahir either as a customer at his café/bar, or a client for his information brokering services. Currently Mal is also a bit hesitant to start a new relationship; he's usually the 'heartbreakee' so to speak, but perhaps we could see how things develop after they meet?

As for Louis, he fought in the Battle of Hogwarts as a Hit Wizard, so the two of them might have met each other then. He also started his Auror training after Zahir became a full-fledged Auror, so perhaps their paths might have crossed during Louis' training?
