WILDFIRE, BOGGART RAVAGE HOGWARTS GROUNDS, HOGSMEADE
By Jamie Straiton
HOGSMEADE, Scotland, November 5, 2005 — Fear and fire swept across the castle grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the nearby village of Hogsmeade early this morning. According to eyewitness accounts, a massive wildfire broke out near the Great Lake at around 7:30 a.m. and spread swiftly, razing parts of the Forbidden Forest and causing extensive damage to Britain’s only all-wizarding village. Amidst the chaos, at least one boggart was sighted terrorising the residents of Hogsmeade and entrapping them within burning buildings.
The fire was extinguished by a magically-induced rainstorm, while the boggart was subdued by Defence Against the Dark Arts (DADA) teacher, Professor Ethan Forrester. At least seven people, including at least one student, were hurt in the incident.
Investigations are ongoing to uncover the cause of the fire and the boggart attack. As of press time, neither the Auror Office nor Hogwarts responded to the Daily Prophet’s queries.
This is a developing story and will be updated as we find out more about the situation.
