He loved this new routine, every minute of it. Of course, it was no longer his first year teaching and in concept, the things Andreas taught during his classes remained similar, but every year, a new batch of first-years brought increasingly fresh experiences to learn from and each term students progressed, there were new challenges to help them overcome. Despite any less pleasant moments (that quite frankly, had the potential to take a day or two off anyone's lifespan), he would never regret making the decision to return to Hogwarts.

It was important to Andreas that his office remain a safe space for all who visited, even if they did not study music themselves. Growing up, it was the support he had gotten from friends or mentors that got him through difficult times, and that was what made him strive to be kind. He could only be so lenient with his students and perhaps he couldn't share their burdens directly, but over the years Andreas had learned not to underestimate how much effect a simple act of compassion could have. Even if that was something as small as offering someone a cup of tea on a terrible day.

Office hours were still open, but a sudden pressing matter had come up, resulting in Andreas needing to temporarily leave the familiar space. He had left a note on the door consisting of a brief explanation and assurance that he would return within five minutes, but it still didn't stop him from hoping that the student he soon spotted waiting outside had not been there too long. "Ms. Swan," Andreas greeted Nixa as he approached her, offering her a sincere smile. "I'm so sorry to keep you waiting. What can I do for you?"
