A wee little babe
Calypso and Drest's meeting was completely by chance, though to the people around them who knew the couple, it was a sign of fate. She was nearly seventeen and he was almost four years older than she was. Though the age was no problem for the two new love birds, it did however cause concerns with their parents. Were they ready for this kind of serious relationship? Calypso's parents seemed to think that she wasn't near ready. She was still young and their little girl. But there was nothing they could do, only hope that school would break the infatuation. A random bumping on the street led to a whirlwind romance. The young girl was taken very quickly with Drest. He was charming strong and he knew how to make a girl blush. She was pure and innocent and he was strong and in control. There was no keeping them apart.
Soon after their budding romance, Calypso had news. She told her new loving boyfriend first. They were to bring a new life into the world. He of course was thrilled with the idea of the child completing their little family. But their parents were far from happy. There was the question if she, herself would be mature enough to be a good mother, after all, she was still just a child. The birth of the baby didn't change the lives of the two. The new parents were happy to be such, they still loved each other and in fact, Drest, had bought a small little cottage for them in Cardiff. After the young mother graduated from Hogwarts they moved in together and they raised the small little child together. They named her Artemis, yes they realized when they named her that it was a boy's name, however as happy Drest was to have a child, he really would have liked a boy. So the couple decided to raise her as such. And they started with the baby's name, Artemis Jay Bane.
The young Artemis grew up with two loving parents. After battling all the negativity and the doubt from their families the two grew only closer together with the birth of their child. They loved her very much and promised themselves to support her in any lifestyle she saw fit. Artemis grew up with all of the benefits of good parents and she took it to heart. When she was a toddler she was spoiled rotten. She got an abundance of toys and clothes. Her parents never took her to a nanny, one of them was always there with her. They didn't want a stranger bringing up their daughter. So the question of the young parents being able to raise her was no longer a question.
When the young girl grew up her parents got her the best tutors that they could afford, which considering they had a decent amount of money, was fairly good. Drest works for a woman, making potions at her shop in Dublin. Calypso being the stay home mom that she was, made sure she had the best of things. Her parents wanted her to have an advantage when she went to school. They wanted her to be smart and wanted her to know that they loved her. So as she grew up she learned all the things she could. Different languages, history, and even some herbology. The little girl enjoyed learning, she took in all the knowledge that she could. Even as a child she knew that it would come in handy when she grew older.
Her father was a predominant part of her life. He made sure he was there to protect her, honor and cherish her, and also teach her the more, 'manly' things in life. He taught her how to use weapons, how to keep them sharp and clean, and never let them dull. His saying was a well-maintained weapon is one that will keep you alive. She loved the weaponry training, her mother wasn't as fond of it but she didn't argue because Drest had wanted a boy, and instead he was spending time with their little girl. Besides, who knew, it could come in handy for the young thing when she grew up.

Artemis didn't grow up exactly as planned by her parents. She secluded herself from other people, she didn't take part in the normal activities that kids her age did. She didn't go to the quidditch games, she didn't take an active role in any social events. Although she was a huge fan of the dueling club, she enjoyed the gatherings for that. She put all her effort into her studies and some other reading that wasn't required. A lot of which wasn't monitored by professors and the like.
In her early school years, everyone was nervous about how they were going to do in school and how they were going to survive the next few years. The thoughts that were in Artemis' mind, was how could one make a profit off of destroying people. What would it be like to have that kind of power and control? Artemis wanted to learn the ins and outs of people's fears, feelings, and joys. Play on them, feed on them. It was easy to get into people’s heads. A lot of the students feared failing, some had phobias, but a few had good juicy fears she could prey upon. As she grew into an adult, Artemis learned to read people. How to use their fears, regrets, and worries against them. She preyed upon people and fed on their misery and pain. It was satisfying to her to watch as their walls crumbled, their hearts broken and their spirits died. One might say she's a bully, but she considers herself someone who doesn't take crap from anyone, including her superiors.
As life raged on, Artemis found herself making deals with people around her. She made death deals to kill this person or torture that person. Of course, everything she did came with a price. Her services weren't free, nor were they cheap she had to make a living off of hunting people, stalking them, causing them pain, sometimes using their family's lives as a bargaining chip. During the chaos, it was easy to make money. Kill this muggle, torture this mudblood, but she never went beyond her means. She wasn't ignorant enough to put her life in danger unless it served her needs.
Prey on the weak, kill the wounded, destroy all who get in the way.
As the years progressed, she took to learning new ways to bend people to her will. She started practicing wandless magic, focusing on the more difficult aspects of it. She was disciplined enough to know that it was going to take practice, hardship, and maybe even a little pain. But she was going to make it happen. She was a strong enough witch to make the things she wanted, happen.
Personality (1-2 paragraphs):
Artemis isn't the type of woman to be messed with. She's not afraid of anything, or so she says, and she is willing to die to get what she wants. She doesn't fear death, and in fact death is her trade. She is a hired hand, an assassin and isn't really afraid of who knows it. She likes to distance herself from people so she doesn't get hurt by anything, by being mean to people, she thinks can accomplish that. She pushes people away by calling them nasty names, or just by ignoring them entirely. There is no point for the young woman to get attached to anyone, it is too easy to find her vulnerable spots that way and make her hurt. If she cared about people, her job, or the people surrounding her job could make it easy to manipulate her. It's better if she's alone because she can become extremely angry and is a very violent person. Not only because she has to be, but because she enjoys it. She likes the power that comes with breaking people down, making them bleed and even torturing them until they die or can't handle it anymore. She takes pleasure in pain both causing and receiving it, some might even consider her a bit sadistic in nature. She enjoys watching people suffer at her own hand. Even when she's on a kill she enjoys making them suffer, causing them pain and making them bleed. It is more fun for her to watch them scream and squirm. She gets pleasure out of every kill she makes.
The woman has been through a lot in life, mostly things she brought on herself. To escape the frustrations and stress of her everyday life she has one night stands with random men and women. She has decided that she is a self proclaimed sex addict. Artie enjoys all aspects of it, the control, the pleasure and if they're up for it, the pain. Although she's not horribly picky about the people she takes to her bed she does like them to have experience. She would prefer them to be older than she is and wouldn't object to someone that was even in their forties, as long as they are good looking of course. When it comes right down to it, the woman has what most people would call an addictive personality, she drinks, she smokes and she has her sex, but she does this all like clock work. She can't live with out her vices and she doesn't plan on giving any of them up. With her addictions, once she tries something, like booze, sex, cigarettes and even the illegal drugs and potions, she's hooked. She's not a crazy messed up kind of addict and she knows how to control it, she just doesn't want to give up the 'good' feelings that go along with the highs.
Being the woman that Artemis is and the job title she holds, she is very impulsive. There is no thinking before she acts, no thought to the consequences of her actions or what the repercussions would be. Due to her impulsive nature, she is very arrogant. She doesn't think she'll ever get caught or even suspected. She makes the kills so clean and is very good about covering up her kills. Even with the impulsion she still knows how to be clean about it and make it so the mess was never there. The young woman gets the kicks from the job she does, as well as hiding it. The confidence she carries about herself emanates off of her and seeps into the sarcastic tone she often takes with people. The ignorance of people brings out her sarcastic side and she doesn't see a point in trying to hide it. It's a part of who she is and she is very proud of who she is. Most of the time she gives people a look and the some horrible comment.
Artemis is the type of person to hold grudges, if something happened that made her feel wronged at any point, she can be very unforgiving. She doesn't like being hurt or taken advantage of and if someone has gotten the upper hand on her before, she doesn't want it to ever happen again. So she writes them off. On top of being unforgiving she is very very short tempered. She has anger issues and doesn't try to hide them, if something makes her angry she lets it get to her. Her nostrils flare and her hands clench. She's even been known to throw things, punch something or break bones. But eventually she gets past the anger.
