Monique Hillbrand was born to Robert and Josie Hillbrand on July 18, 1994, in Liverpool, U.K. An ever-curious (and sometimes temperamental) child, she had a relatively happy childhood as the youngest of eight children, all of whom are Hogwarts alumni, as are her parents. Though much too young to really remember the events of the Second Wizarding War, Monique nevertheless grew up hearing her parents and siblings talking about it, and it was from these discussions that she formed the basic understanding that not everyone in the magical world was good.

As she grew older and learned more about the wizarding world, the more impatient she grew to receive her Hogwarts letter so she could carve her own legacy within that world. This letter came a few months after she showed her first sign of magic—reaching down to pet the family dog and accidentally turning its fur a bright orange. Her excitement palpable, she wasted no time preparing herself for her first term at Hogwarts.

To the casual observer, Monique Hillbrand appears to be a slightly goofy, eccentric young lady whose head is constantly in the clouds. To those who know her better however, she is anything but. Monique’s quirky appearance belies a keen, observant mind, one which allows her to move freely from one social circle to another, observing situations and quickly adjusting to them. As such, Monique has many acquaintances but only two or three true confidants.
