Desperate deeds and dread works (OPEN)

Located on the first floor, the library is where staff, students, and Aurors can peruse or check out books. With a quiet atmosphere and plenty of tables and chairs, the library is a popular study area. It is well-guarded by Aurors, who silently patrol up and down the stacks.

Desperate deeds and dread works (OPEN)

Post by Colette Descoteaux »

Despite the risk of punishment, be it detention, the docking of house points or worse, Colette found herself bound to infiltrate the Restricted Section of the library. Tragically this proved an easy thing to do. Students were used to her almost random wanderings and the same went for the professors. She found the dread books which she sought, dark and unhappy tomes of forbidden lore. Yet despite her own reservation, from her own fears of corruption, she knew what she must do. The vision, the one which violently assaulted her mind in the Great Hall, routinely came to haunt her dreams.

Only by studying this fell volumes could she understand it, then with her comprehension she might find herself more able to inform her professors about it. She found herself a quiet and isolated corner of the library in which to read before setting down both of the heavy books. One was of the purest black, a blackness so deep that all light seemed to drown in it's surface. It lacked a title, save for a single silver moon. The second, smaller than the first was of a pale cream inlaid with swirling blood red text. Yet, it was the former rather than the latter she started her researches with.

She opened it, hearing insidious whispers at her min, she focused her mind on her sense of self, of who she was, what mattered to her, shutting out the voices for the moment. Colette found the grim page she sought after a few minutes of searching. Her blood froze and the petite seer swallowed anxiously as she slammed the foul thing close before shuddering. She did not need the other loathsome text to confirm her worst fears now.

The wolves were coming. Not to here, nay not Hogwarts. Nor to any student or professor, but someone in the world of wizarding had run afoul of a pack of werewolves and danger came on clawed feet. Yet, the questioned remained as to who to talk to about this dark prophecy. A teacher? Her father? Someone from the Ministry? Lost in these thoughts, she snatched up both books intending to return them only to collide with someone. The impact sent Colette sprawling, smashing her shoulder into a bookshelf, causing her to cry out, as both volumes of text scattered onto the ground. Several books tumbled from the shelf to add insult to injury, shattering the stillness of the library.

Colette mumbled something in French to low to be audible as she attempted to pick herself up off of the floor.
