Nigel teaches Transfiguration, and I presume most, if not all, students will be taking the subject during the first five years at Hogwarts. Would Cassander be interested in learning about other areas of Transfiguration such as becoming an Animagus? If so, Nigel could mentor and guide him along.

By any chance, does Cassander take Arithmancy? Integra is known to be an extremely strict professor, and she might not like the way Cassander tries to get away with mediocre grades. I wouldn't say that their relationship would be antagonistic, as Integra views her seemingly harsh treatment of her students as tough love, and she truly wants her students to become the best versions of themselves.
