History:
Nova had things fairly easy in her life, a fact she is not unaware of. She was born into a pure-blooded family. Her father, William, was from America. He had attended Ilvermorny and was a Pukwudgie. Her mother, Eliza, was from England and had been a Slytherin while at Hogwarts. They met soon after William made his way to England, taking a job at the Ministry. He eventually would become an Auror, while her mother became a part of the Wizarding fashion world. She has an older sister named Aurora, who became an artist not long after leaving Hogwarts, and a younger brother, Orion, who is at Hogwarts as well, though he's sorted into Gryffindor.
Despite being born and raised in London, Nova was always drawn to the Gothic style and enjoyed experimenting with different looks and colors. She often spent hours creating unique outfits and accessories to express her individuality. However, her choice of gothic style caused her troubles with making friends during her early years at Hogwarts. Despite this, Nova remained dedicated to her studies and her values of loyalty, hard work, and fair play. People found her somewhat standoffish, and if anyone tried to say anything to her about her style in hopes of trying to cow her, they'd get a very different response- being raised by a Slytherin did not a coward make. Eventually, though, people would realize that she wouldn't bite if you came at her with kindness and with genuine interest. She started to get a small group fo acquaintances that would consider themselves at least on friendly terms with her, though she doesn't really consider anyone a true friend.
Her only friend is Spike, to whom she confides all. He is usually somewhere on her person as she makes her way around Hogwarts, so keep an eye out for quills. Regardless of people's judgments of her bright hair and dark clothes and make-up, she is true to herself and pursues the things that matter to her with determination and dedication (Which might explain some of her O.W.L. scores).
Personality:
Despite her appearances, Nova embodies the Hufflepuff's values of loyalty, hard work, and fair play. Her dedication to her studies and love for learning have earned her the respect of her peers and professors alike. Despite her reserved nature, Nova is a creative and imaginative individual with a passion for fashion. Her unique sense of style is a reflection of her individuality and creativity, and she enjoys experimenting with different looks and styles. Nova is also an animal lover and has a soft spot for all creatures, great and small. Her pet hedgehog, Spike, is her constant companion and brings her great joy.
Eliza, being a proud Slytherin, instilled in Nova a strong sense of self and the ability to stand up for herself. She taught Nova to be confident in her own unique style, even if it wasn't always popular with others. As a result, Nova developed a strong sense of individuality and independence that she carries with her to this day. Coupled with her kinder nature, she also does not stand for letting other people be bullied either and will butt in without invitation if she sees it happening to either chase off the bully or deflect them.
