Noah grew up in a typical wizarding family. His father, Alexander, spent a lot of time abroad as a delegate for the International Confederation of Wizards, so much of his younger years were spent with his siblings and mother. Both of his parents were magical, though his mother was a muggle-born witch. His father's side were not pureblood, but could trace their magical heritage back to Alexanders great-grandfather. It was an unlikely partnership when it came to school houses -- Alexander was a Slytherin and Diana was a muggle-born Gryffindor. It didn't take a Seer to foresee the marriage was doomed from the start. When Noah was six, his parents divorced. His mother, in her infalliable wit, would tell people that Alexander was in a terrible accident that only Ivy knew how to treat... well, perhaps not as watered down as that, but Noah got in trouble the last time he explained it the way she did.
It was discovered in the middle of the separation that Alexander and Ivy had a child that was just one month older than Noah, meaning the affair wasn't any sort of new development. Where it took Diana time to process things, the children were all young enough to not fully understand the situation. However, their newly discovered half-brother, Aster, was not a nice child. Entitled, bratty, and downright rude, Noah could tell there would be a bitter rivalry later in life if the personality didn't change.
Two years later, their little family of four nearly doubled in size when Jasyn Corbyn and his two sons came into their lives. In truth, Jasyn had been around for half of his life up to the present day, but felt more like his father than Alexander had ever been due to his constant absence.
Diana was adamant that her children be educated in the arts. Noah took up piano and later guitar while his elder brother took up art. Elodie too up singing, as her name was derived from the French art song genre known as Melodie. Piano became an outlet for Noah, who had taken up playing as soon as he was old enough. He wrote many songs to process his parents' separation, even making a light-hearted song about 'double the family, double the presents at Christmastime' much to his mother and stepfather's chagrin.
Noah started at Hogwarts in the 2000-2001 school year. Like his mother and brother before him, he was sorted into Gryffindor. His stepbrother Elijah also started the same year. Since becoming a blended family, the two had been the closest friends, confiding in each other over the years. Jasyn's fame as a Quidditch player inspired the two boys to join the school's Quidditch team, though Noah enjoyed the aspect of racing on brooms more than playing the sport. From his second year until the start of his fifth year, Noah remained on Gryffindor's team, but dropped it when he was offered the position of Prefect. His studiousness helped him maintain high marks in most of his classes, but he was nervous to try and keep up with prefect duties, Quidditch practice, and some of his elective courses. Deciding it was time to buckle down and prepare for his O.W.L.s, Noah stepped away from the sport. Besides, it was more likely he could complete a reading assignment in the halls of the school rather than on a broom dodging Bludgers.
With O.W.L. results that he couldn't be happier with, Noah dropped some of the courses with his lowest scores and continued on into his sixth year. Music was his nagging passion and he'd been in the music class and played for ensembles. It was the profession that he felt he wanted to persue the most, but maintained a challenging course load in case that didn't work out. Would broomstick racing be a thing? He was sure his mother would try and stop it. Nevertheless, he has started his sixth year ready to face any challenges that comes his way... even if it's the reality that he may have to plan for a desk job after Hogwarts.
Personality:
Overall, Noah is a rather light-hearted and good-spirited person. He always tries his best to make the most of a given situation and always prefers to see people smile or laughing. When situations get tense, he's the first one to try and make a joke to try and smooth things out. He's not one to make enemies, but isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes in and defend those he cares about from any impending danger.
His greatest passion is music and can often be found in the music hall playing piano, or in some quiet corridor of the castle strumming on his guitar while staring up at the moon. Academically, he excels at Transfigurations and has a knack for duelling. While not exactly a bookworm, he does spend time studying and practicing, especially when he doesn't feel like he's mastered the lesson. This has become more common in his advanced studies than ever before.
Noah values family above all. He is close with his brother, sister, and step-brothers, especially Elijah due to being the same age. His half brother Aster, however, is someone that isn't as close. Noah doesn't bear any hatred, but rather prefers to avoid him if possible to avoid any conflict.
